The same "Arithmetic error" happens when I directly use "M-x
nxml-mode" in Emacs. I guess that it's a usual Alpha-specific problem:
a division by zero triggers a SIGFPE.

Hi,

as bug #330826 of gcc 4.0 is fixed the -mieee flag to stop SIGFPE from
flying is used when compiling emacs. And that fixes the bug :-)
