Package: resolvconf
Version: 1.63
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks unrelated software
Dear Maintainer,
maybe it is just me, but resolvconf breaks udev on my system, so I am setting
the severity to critical here, feel free to downgrade the severity if you
think this is my fault.
That is what is happening:
1. /sbin/resolvconf defines
RUN_DIR=/etc/resolvconf/run
2. /etc/resolvconf/run links to /run in my system
3. resolvconf --wipe-runtime-directories does
rm -rf "$RUN_DIR"/*
which removes non-resolvconf files from /run
After 3., when udev starts I get the message:
udevd: Failed to create queue file. No such file or directory.
If I set RUN_DIR=/etc/resolvconf/run/resolvconf then udev works again but
resolvconf does not work 100%.
I also see that ubuntu got rid of the link in /etc/resolvconf/run and just
used /run/resolvconf:
http://package-import.ubuntu.com/diffs/resolvconf
Maybe we could do that too?
Thanks a lot for your time.
Regards,
Antonio Ospite
