Package: cups
Version: 1.4.4-7
Severity: minor

The lpoptions manual page says:

If no options are specified using the -o option, then the current
options for the named printer are reported on the standard
        output.

However, it does not work as documented:

        $ lpoptions -o
        Usage: lpoptions [-h server] [-E] -d printer
               lpoptions [-h server] [-E] [-p printer] -l
               lpoptions [-h server] [-E] -p printer -o option[=value] ...
               lpoptions [-h server] [-E] -x printer

Hello Bruce,

It is not unknown for me to misinterpret a man page. I'm glad I'm not
alone!

In the SYNOPSIS lpotions(1) has [ -o option[=value] ]. Anything between
a [ ] pair is optional on the command line. What is not optional is
giving an argument to -o if is used. That is, '-o option' or nothing is
allowed.

'lpoptions -h' gives the same usage message you got.

Cheers,

Brian.
