Since there are other, especially also free (as in free speech)
microblogging server (e.g. http://laconi.ca/) and services
(e.g. http://identi.ca/), Twitux should make the base URL for the used
API configurable.
I tried to set /apps/twitux/tweets/home_timeline to the Twitter API of
identi.ca, but this only seems a setting being filled with hard-coded
API URLs and some other URLs seem to be hardcoded to twitter.com, too.

Hello,
This package was removed from Debian a while ago, it's only present in
lenny/oldstable, and it's dead upstream ([1], and last release 3+
years ago).
Since the package is removed the bugs are orphan, and they will not be
useful nor attended anymore. So I am closing them now. Sorry that
they were not attended/fixed in due time.
