Package: linux-image-2.6.24-etchnhalf.1-686
Version: 2.6.24-6~etchnhalf.4
Severity: important
I upgraded to etchnhalf and the machine started hanging on reboot. I
also tested with 2.6.24-1-686 and 2.6.25-2-686 with the same results.
Booting with "reboot=b" works around the problem.
Ubuntu bug 114854 seems like the same thing:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.20/+bug/114854
It says that they fixed it, so perhaps the same patch can be used for
Debian ?
After a quick Google it seems that this problem occurs mainly on Dell
machines.
If you need, please contact me for more info.
HTH,
Tzvetan
