Hi,
with the last update on udev, hotplug was removed and udev completely
replaces it. However on the first boot I noticed that bootlogd wasn't
starting anymore and the ipw2100-firmware couldn't be loaded too.
After checking the init-script I found the timeout-option, and added a
udevd_timeout=10 in /etc/udev/udev.conf. The timeout is still reached,
but at least bootlogd runs again (it couln't find a tty IIRC before).
I think the default should be longer than just 3 seconds for udevd and
there needs to be a documented example entry for udev.conf so people
know what to change when they see this kind of error.
BTW: My system is a 1.4GHz Centrino machine and this happend in the
"mobile" mode where it runs with 500MHz only.
Andreas
