Package: octave-psychtoolbox-3
Version: 3.0.9+svn2539.dfsg1-1
Severity: important

Hi,

While testing psyschtoolbox, I have encountered a bug preventing to use
it on my system. I have run the KinectDemo (with a kinect device connected of
course) and it freeze after the first image coming from the kinect is
displayed. This has been tested on 2 other systems using Wheezy on amd64 and
the results are the same.

I have also tested on a system running Ubuntu 10.04 (lucid) on amd64 using the
NeuroDebian backport (so the same version of psychtoolbox and libfreenect) and
it works fine.

However, besides the difference of distribution, the other difference between
the machines on wheezy and the one on lucid is that the one on lucid use the
proprietary GPU driver of AMD (fglrx) while the wheezy use the free driver (2
are using radeon and one intel GPU).

Then I have suspected the problem might come from the way psychtoolbox try to
access the GPU. So I have tested the other demos on one of the machine on
Wheezy (the system info provided comes from this machine) and have been unable
to find one not freezing at the beginning.
Here is the message obtained when running LinesDemo:
