If a logrotate config file contains a line such as:
compressoptions -f -9
logrotate will report:
error: syslog-ng:7 bad compressoptions path -9 -f
This is because it can't handle spaces in a "path" option. There's a
comment at config.c:80 which acknowledges this, and says "let's see if
anyone complains". Consider this a complaint. :)
Paths can have spaces in them. They can also contain non-printable
characters, although that's less likely. As the source code comment
says, the check is too restrictive. I recommend that the entire check be
removed.
I'm not even sure that the compressoptions config option should be
treated as a path. It should definately be allowed spaces.
