The build dependencies of the debian packages of vice 2.x in squeeze/wheezy/sid
are outdated. I'm not an expert on the Linux port of vice but I believe the
following are all true for versions of vice since 2.0:
- libxxf86dga-dev is no longer required (support has been removed from the
source.)
- libxv-dev is now only used for xaw builds not needed with gtk/gnome.
- libgtkglext1-dev is now required for hardware scaling in the gtk/gnome port.
Some other points:
- debian/copyright file is outdated.
- The upstream mailing list has moved since the release of vice 2.3. It is
now [email protected], so any repackaged versions should
mention that; also any questions sent there will probably be seen by someone
more knowledgeable about Linux than me.
