Hi,
one of my users got a pretty strange bug with emacs21 (while editing tex
files if that matters).
he opened the file, wrote 2 lines then wanted to scroll the buffer with
the mouse, this made emacs crash
I've been able to reproduce that behavior on my own account, opening a
tex file (it does not need to be very big), and scrolling fast for 10/20
seconds with the mouse makes emacs crash (actually the window gets
totally frozen)
I renamed /lib/tls to /lib/tls.old and since then I am totally unable to
crash emacs anymore.
I could not get any usefull backtrace, it just speaks about libpthread
iirc, nothing in emacs (so it may be a libc bug ?)
note that I am using sarge i386 on a bi-opteron server

Hello,
Thanks for your interest in improving Debian, and sorry that the bugs
were not fully resolved in due time.
emacs21 packages have been removed from testing in 2009 [1], not
present even in the current stable. Consequently, these bugs are now
orphan (without maintainer assigned) so they probably will not be
attended/noticed further.

The bugs deemed valid are going to be verified and reassigned, but the
current bugs that I'm closing now are very ancient (more than 10 years
sometimes) and marked as unreproducible years ago. Please comment if
you want think that some of the raised questions are still pending and
need to be addressed differently (e.g., reassigned to other packages,
etc.).
