Severity: important
Hi!
I encounter a weird bug on one of my systems: Qemu randomly freezes
inputs and X display. This occurs often at the very start-up of the
virtual system, but can also occur in the few first seconds of the image
boot, or even after, when using the virtual system. In the later case,
the freeze often happen when I switch to the desktop where Qemu is
running, so I suspect that the problem is somehow related to X.
I've reproduced this bug both with KVM and Qemu. The virtualized systems
were various flavours of BSD and GNU/Linux.
I use the intel video driver (xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.13.0-4).
I usually launch KVM (or Qemu) as a simple user with a line such as:
kvm -m 500 -hda image.qcow2 -net nic,macaddr=00:aa:00:60:01:01,model=e1000 -net
user
But the bug is reproducible with a simple:
kvm -cdrom microcore_3.3.iso
If you want me to test something or need any additional information,
please just ask. I really would like this bug fixed ASAP ;-)
Cheers,
Matteo

Matteo, you appears to be only one user reporting this -- not only
in debian but for whole qemu or qemu-kvm community. I've never seen
such a thing. May it be something to do with the mouse grab qemu
is doing when you hit Ctrl+Alt, or click the gest (sdl) window
with mouse? Does it also happen when you connect to your guest
using vnc instead of using sdl window? And, most important, does
it happen with current (1.1) version of qemu or qemu-kvm?
I'm closing this bugreport now. I'm sorry no one come back to
you before this time, and that the "resolution" is so unconclusive.
Please, if you think this bug is still relevant, reopen it, and
we'll try to narrow it down - you'll have to work on your system
since if the problem is still here, you have the only system which
is able to reproduce it :)
Thank you!
