I tried building network-manager using:
$ sudo aptitude build-dep network-manager
$ ./autogen.sh
But the configure script ran into two errors. I had to install two packages
that weren't in the build deps:

the package has already a build-depends on libnl-genl-3-dev (since
0.9.4.0-1)
> $ sudo aptitude install libnss3-dev
this is not a bug in the debian package. We build against gnutls and not
libnss.
