Package: scim
Version: 1.4.9-5
Severity: normal

Scim causes certain apps to crash - in my case gmplayer, which crashes
when selecting preferences or about from the right-click menu.
This can be solved either by uninstalling scim, or by running gmplayer
as such:

GTK_IM_MODULE=xim gmplayer

which makes it work again.

I believe the same problem is reported upstream here:

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3037949&group_id=108454&atid=650539

but it mentions other applications crashing in combination with scim.

Thank you for reporting back. I'll close the ticket now. If anybody
else is experiencing similar problems it's best if they open their own
ticket.
