I was on a lan party last month. I shared some files via the samba
server. Samba crashed quite often, every 10 minutes or so.
It was a 'big' network with about 200 peoples, all using different
systems like win98, win2k/XP, Linux(smbclient), Mac OS 10.
I checked all samba crash reports on bugs.debian.org, and could not find
one like this. But, if this is a duplicate or already solved, sorry for
your time.
I have the following setting in smb.conf:
security=share
socket options = TCP_NODELAY
local master = yes
os level = 64
domain master = auto
preferred master = auto
dns proxy = no
obey pam restrictions = yes
I got different crash reports via mail from the samba server (and often
none, only the message that the server has crashed).
Ok, here the debug reports.
