This relates to my post regarding problems when upgrading to 2.6 kernels with a
nvidia 5700 card. The Resent-Message-ID is [EMAIL PROTECTED] and was sent 18
July.
The problem stemmed from the older /etc/init.d/nvidia-glx script being left in
place. That script is hard-coded for the older driver (5336), referencing
non-existent files. I had never noticed problems before because I was using a
2.4.26 kernel.
I strongly recommend that the script be automatically replaced or an email sent
notifying root about the issue. This was a problem I wouldn't have tracked
down myself, as it never would have occurred to me to look there for troubles.
