Package: klogd
Version: 1.4.1-10
Severity: normal

Hi,

I believe that klogd should retry connecting to /dev/log with
SOCK_STREAM if SOCK_DGRAM connection failed with EPROTOTYPE.

The syslog() function in glibc does this (and since nearly all
applications use this, they do the same), AFAIK only klogd insist
on using exclusively SOCK_DGRAM.

If you have an explicit reason for doing so, please enlighten me on
that, I may have missed it.

Thanks,
Andras
