Package: postgresql-client
Version: 7.4.7-2
Severity: normal

When using uxterm with correct utf8 settings, LESSCHARSET=utf-8, then
the man page contains some unicode minuses. So you cannot search for
an option by searching for like -O, because that is a different -.

This is not the case with other man pages, like the man page of ls.

Considering the number of options for some programs, I think this is
definitely hinders usability. Those minuses to be shorter a little bit is
not that important as being searchable.

Package: postgresql-7.4
Version: 1:7.4.9-1

This is actually a bug in docbook2man (see Debian bug #208967). A few
months ago, this was worked around in groff in

 groff (1.18.1.1-7) unstable; urgency=3Dlow

  * Too many fonts are missing the Unicode HYPHEN character, so I give up.
Render "-" as HYPHEN-MINUS (ASCII 0x2D) by default. (Of course, manual
pages using "-" when they should be using "\-" should still be fixed.)

So the manpages in Etch and Sid are fine.
