Package: gnumeric
Version: 1.10.8-1squeeze5
Severity: important

After upgrading from Debian-5.0, latest patch level, to 6.0r0,
gnumeric has become very slow to use. The problem is worse with
complex sheets, but exen exists with the empty sheet that gnumeric
starts with:

Just moving the cursor up, down, left and right, after a couple of
seconds, gnumeric begins to lag. Then it takes about half a
second to navigate to another cell. There is no noticeable use of
CPU while this happens (verfied with "top"). After maybe ten to
twenty seconds the problem goes away. It comes back periodically.

The same problem occurs on another machine with different hardware
but a similar setup.

This problem is most likely related to some X libraries, not
"gnumeric". Anyway it was reported for "oldstable" which is no longer
relevant these days. Closing...

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to [email protected],
and the maintainer will reopen the bug report if appropriate.
