Package: libwebkitgtk-1.0-0
Version: 1.11.91-1
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
It would seem that a recent update to libharfbuzz0 (from 0.9.17-2 to 0.9.17-3)
has rendered Hotot unable to be launched. The Traceback I get in the terminal
when attempting to launch Hotot from there points to an undefined symbol that
libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0 seems to be looking for as the cause of the problem.
Here is the Traceback:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/hotot", line 13, in <module>
from hotot import hotot
File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/hotot/hotot.py", line 10, in <module>
import view
File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/hotot/view.py", line 4, in <module>
import webkit
File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.7/webkit/__init__.py", line 21, in <module>
import webkit
ImportError: /usr/lib/libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0: undefined symbol:
hb_icu_get_unicode_funcs
Based on the last line of the traceback, I suspect the issue ultimately lies
with this package, and would probably be resolved with an appropriate
update/fix applied to this package. For the time being I have downgraded
libharfbuzz0 to the prior version that Hotot was able to launch with, and will
hold it back until a later update to either this package or libharfbuzz0 which
addresses this problem.
