Dear Maintainer,
I note that the description for package libgrib2c-dev states that the
package contains the static libraries and headers needed to build
applications against libgrib2. However, the package does not actually
appear to contain the static library: see "dpkg -L " output below.
I know that static libraries are a bit old-fashioned. But one of the
reasons for installing libgrib2c-dev is to build the wgrib2 utility.
(See http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/wesley/wgrib2 )
And the configure scripts for that utility expect static versions of
all the libraries which it uses.
