Package: rpm
Version: 4.0.4-28
Severity: important

I found this when trying to use alien to install an rpm package.
This is the rpm (it's quite huge, 138M):
ftp://web3.moxa.com.tw/SWDownload/UC7420/mxscaleb-3.3.2-1.i386.rpm

(it's a toolchain for a linux embedded device)

This does not halt the system, and shows the name of the package:
        rpm -qp mxscaleb-3.3.2-1.i386.rpm

But this does halt the system after one or two minutes with a "rpmq"
process consuming 100% of CPU:
        rpm --queryformat '[%{FILEMODES} %{FILEUSERNAME} %{FILEGROUPNAME}
%{FILENAMES}\n]' -qp mxscaleb-3.3.2-1.i386.rpm

The big problem is that this query is done by alien, in line 199 of:
        /usr/share/perl5/Alien/Package/Rpm.pm

It's really extrange, because neither memory or disk usage increase. It
looks more like some very bad system call being performed.
