Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

Installing ffmpeg through the package manager apt-get

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

Try to install ffmpeg

   * What was the outcome of this action?

Libav, a fork of ffmpeg was installed.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

Installation of ffmpeg.

Hello Lorenzo,

the ffmpeg package in Debian provides a command-line interface to libav
that is compatible to the original ffmpeg tool. The fact that it is
actually libav is already reflected in the package description.
Furthermore, that interface is considered deprecated and is scheduled
for removal in one of the next uploads.

Cheers,
Fabian
