Bastian,

thank you for the latest release of xfe which has just reached testing.  It is 
beautiful! I can also confirm that bug 303466 is a goner.

What I was surprised to find out is that integration into the windowing 
environment is lacking.  I use icewm and I have no windowing widgets whatsoever 
:(  
Makes it a bit of a pain to move to and from applications.
