Package: mozilla-thunderbird
Version: 1.0.2-2.sarge1.0.7
Severity: normal

I notice that selecting an external movemail program with

  user_pref("mail.use_builtin_movemail", false);
  user_pref("mail.movemail_program", "/usr/bin/movemail");

is ignored (thunderbird uses its internal program, regardless).
Thunderbird seems to know about the above prefs.js settings: keeps
them (as distinct from dropping things it does not want to know).
Specifying an external program which is setgid mail (e.g. the one
provided with xemacs) should get around the permission issue

  http://bugs.debian.org/272956

(which is exactly why I would want it).

Curious: an external movemail was working fine with Netscape4...

There is nothing left of this feature in the source ... so its
obviously unsupported anymore, sorry!
