On purging this package, I received the following warning:
W: /usr/share/fonts/truetype/arphic/ukai.ttc: not registered.
I got a similar warning for ttf-arphic-uming.

This bug is no longer happening wherever I tried to reproduce it. I
suspect this was related to defoma which is now gone.
