Package: chromium-browser
Version: 6.0.472.63~r59945-5+squeeze6
Severity: normal

Chromium browser seems to "helpfully" append extensions to the
file names of certain file types it thinks it recognizes.
For example, if I try to download the file,

http://python.org/ftp/python/2.7.3/Python-2.7.3.tar.xz

I end up with a file called 'Python-2.7.3.tar.xz.tar'.
Personally, I do not want the browser to ever rename any file
automatically, but at the very least there should be a
documented way to disable this behavior, since I've had to
unrename files often enough for me to have submitted this
bug report.

Download naming seems to be more expected with current versions.

Best wishes,
