The crash happens with Apache when user trying to log in to the site and
it's always reproducible in my environment.

Hmm, lenny is archived and squeeze has 2.4.23. I would suggest you test
with a newer version (preferably the one in unstable or at least
testing) and reopen & reassign the bug if you can still reproduce it.
