--- Begin Message ---Package: xemacs21 Version: 21.4.19-1 Severity: normal The packages 'auctex' and 'texinfo' both define a function 'tex-mode' and autoload it, from 'auctex/tex.el' and 'auctex/tex-mode.el', respectively. This is bad, and it means that when you first open a TeX file, one or the other will be chosen. I'm not sure which one gets picked--I have two installations, and for some reason one loads the file from auctex and the other loads the file from texinfo. My only idea for fixing this would be to rename one or the other function. Why does texinfo define a tex-mode, anyway? It's surely less useful... (Similar comments hold for latex.) Workaround for anyone that wants to use AucTeX: add the line (require 'tex) to your .xemacs/init.el.
