--- Begin Message ---Package: debtorrent Version: 0.1.8.steve2.4 Severity: wishlist When installing the popularity-contest package, debconf is used to show a privacy warning (along with a question about whether to participate). The system may anonymously supply the distribution developers with statistics about the most used packages on this system. This information influences decisions such as which packages should go on the first distribution CD. If you choose to participate, the automatic submission script will run once every week, sending statistics to the distribution developers. The collected statistics can be viewed on http://popcon.debian.org/. I think DebTorrent should assume that users haven't grokked what "torrent" implies, and display a similar warning. When downloading package files, the DebTorrent client will try to use any other DebTorrent clients it can find to download from. Every client in the DebTorrent network publishes a list of packages which can be downloaded from it. If you choose to participate, the list of which packages you have downloaded will be available to anyone on the internet. Steve
