Package: novnc
Version: 2012.1~e3+dfsg-1
Severity: normal
Dear Ghe,
On installing OpenNebula via:
cloudmaster:~# apt-get install opennebula opennebula-sunstone
I get:
python-novnc (2012.1~e3+dfsg-1) wird eingerichtet ...
novnc (2012.1~e3+dfsg-1) wird eingerichtet ...
chown: ungültiger Benutzer: „nova“
Starting OpenStack NoVNC proxy : nova-novncproxystart-stop-daemon: group 'nova'
not found
(ungültiger Benutzer means invalid user)
Is there a way to make novnc cleanly installable without OpenStack's nova and
its user/group?
I thought this might be related to
novnc: Split package to remove dependency on nova-common
http://bugs.debian.org/675850
But seems already be done:
cloudmaster:~# dpkg -l | grep novnc
ii novnc 2012.1~e3+dfsg-1 HTML5 VNC
client
ii python-novnc 2012.1~e3+dfsg-1 HTML5 VNC
client - libraries
(bug reported on my workstation while opennebula is installed to the
cloudmaster VM)
Thanks,
Martin

Hi,
I believe this bug can be closed, since novnc doesn't require Nova
anymore, and that there's no chown in the maintainer scripts anymore.
If there's still the need to fix something, just reopen this bug please.
Cheers,
Thomas
