Hi Johnny,

I'm aware of this problem. It seems to be an issue with Lesstif not
being fully compatible with Motif. After the release of Sarge I plan to
produce additional cernlib packages linked against OpenMotif3 for the
most popular architectures (i386, powerpc, sparc); they will
unfortunately have to go in contrib since openmotif is in non-free.

For now I don't really have a solution, except one of the following:

a) install the libmotif3 package (it's in non-free), and use the version
of Paw++ supplied in the tarball here:
http://cernlib.web.cern.ch/cernlib/download/2003_rh10/tar/cernbin.tar.gz

b) use the version of Paw++ supplied in the tarball here:
http://cernlib.web.cern.ch/cernlib/download/2003_rh73/tar/cernbin.tar.gz
(This one is linked statically against openmotif so it isn't necessary
to also install the libmotif3 package.)

I'm filing this as a bug against paw++ to make it clear this is a known
issue, and will clone it to paw++-static and lesstif2 once I get a bug
number back.

regards,
