Hi Andreas,
In Ubuntu, we've applied a patch to make findutils and locate Multi-Arch:
foreign, in compliance with the plan for multiarch
described at <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MultiarchSpec>.
I can't remember offhand why this was important at the time I did this; it's
per se correct, but because findutils is Essential: yes, it has very few
reverse-dependencies in the archive so having M-A: foreign correctly
declared has little impact. Anyway, I'm submitting the patch for your
consideration; if you don't think this is worth applying, I'll probably drop
the patch from Ubuntu on the next upload.
