Hello,
I'm not sure if the missing dependency is here but :
I installed dedian wheezy in virtualbox, with no X
After that i installed gnome package
When Xorg start it complains about evdev module missing , and the
keyboard is not working in X ( allthough ok in console )
Installing xserver-xorg-input-evdev resolve this.

Please install xserver-xorg alongside virtualbox-guest-x11.
It will pull in everything you need to properly run X
including the evdev driver.
