--- Begin Message ---Package: nagios-plugins-basic Version: 1.5-2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, Today I updated the nagios-plugins* packages from version 1.5-1 to 1.5-2 on our Icinga server. After that, remote hosts being monitored by the check_ssh plugin were logging error messages like the following: sshd[7315]: fatal: Read from socket failed: Connection reset by peer [preauth] The rsyslog daemon on the monitored hosts is placing these messages in their /var/log/auth.log files by default. The Icinga server is checking these hosts around every 5 mins each, and they all email these messages back to the system administrators via logcheck. I downgraded the nagios-plugins* packages back to version 1.5-1 on the Icinga server again and the messages ceased to occur on the monitored hosts. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.12-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages nagios-plugins-basic depends on: ii iputils-ping 3:20121221-5 ii libc6 2.17-97 ii libssl1.0.0 1.0.1f-1 ii nagios-plugins-common 1.5-2 ii procps 1:3.3.9-2 ii ucf 3.0027+nmu1 nagios-plugins-basic recommends no packages.
