Package: hal
Version: 0.5.11~rc2-1
Severity: grave
Justification: causes non-serious data loss
About 3 weeks ago I could sincronize my palm treo 680 for the last time.
After that, every time I connect my palm to the usb cable, a new usb device is
created (ok), and the gnome-pilot preferences are presented.
But the same happens when I press the syncronize button too: that moment with
tail -f /var/log/syslog I can see:
Apr 7 23:20:35 xserin kernel: usb 3-1: USB disconnect, address 3
Apr 7 23:20:36 xserin kernel: usb 3-1: new full speed USB device using
uhci_hcd and address 4
Apr 7 23:20:36 xserin kernel: usb 3-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
and the gnome-pilot preferences are presented, instead of beginning the
syncronization.
I consider it's a serious bug, because it doesn't permit a vital operation like
syncronize a smartphone.
