Package: spambayes
Version: 1.0.4-5.1
Severity: normal
Spambayes calls pythons 'generator.py', this defaults to mangling emails by
quoting lines matching "From ". ie, mboxo format as referred to here:
http://homepages.tesco.net/J.deBoynePollard/FGA/mail-mbox-formats.html
As a filter, spambayes should never need to alter the message body!
Request that spambayes sets mangle_from_ to false when calling
generator.py.
Note that this bug is detailed upstream at
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2908573&group_id=61702&atid=498103
It has been fixed in the 1.1.x development branch, this bug is only to request
a back port to the 1.0.4 release in debian as there is no timeline for the 1.1x
series currently.
cheers

Hi,
The bug #559977 was already fixed by upstream a long time ago.
It was corresponding to the SF bug n°890 which seems to be fixed since
december 2009.
