Package: nautilus
Version: 2.28.4-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

I'm a KDE4 user, but my system has Gnome installed
too. Recently I ran into a weird behavior on my
desktop: whenever I connected my DoK, it would
be automounted under the wrong name and opened
in Nautilus; this somehow also prevented the
KDE device notifier applet from unmounting it later
(though a command-line "umount" worked perfectly).

Being used to Dolphin, which is just a file manager
and not a desktop manager, it took me quite some time
to figure out what happened: At some point, nautilus
was run (probably by Firefox), and it stayed up when
its window was closed (it does that even when given
the --no-desktop flag, which it was). Then, since the
(reasonable) default is to browse media when inserted,
whenever a media was inserted, nautilus mounted it and
opened a window for it.

In summary: Nautilus was seriously getting in my way,
so I think its behavior is a bug. I suspect the right
thing is for --no-desktop to also imply no automatic
browsing of media, and more importantly, exit upon
closing of the last window, but I can't have a strong
opinion; I'm not a regular Nautilus user.

Thanks,
        Shai.
