Package: lvm2
Version: 2.02.109-1
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
Problem:
/usr/sbin/cache_check is needed to activate a lvm-cache-volume after a
reboot or power-fail.
I created a lvm-cache-volume with commands like
# lvconvert --type cache-pool --poolmetadata VG/CacheMetaLV VG/CacheDataLV
# lvconvert --type cache --cachepool VG/CachePoolLV VG/OriginLV
# mkfs.ext4 ...
# mount ....
... put some load on the device with ...
# dbench -st 60 60
... and removed the power-cable/made a reboot.
After a startup, the lvm-cache-volume was not active. I tried to
activate it with
# lvchange -ay ...
... and it reported the tool /usr/sbin/cache_check is missing. After the
installation of thin-provisioning-tools the
# lvchange -ay
... was successful. The lvm-cache-volume is activated after a further
startup as well.
Regards
Bernd

I don't intend to push this to depends as most users don't need it.
