gitk displays all timestamps in the local time zone, unlike most of the
command-line git tools which show the author’s original time zone by
default.
I submitted patches to allow this to be configured in ~/.gitk, but only
patches 1/3 and 2/3 were merged (the link points to patch 3/3).
