Package: f-spot
Version: 0.4.4-1
Severity: important
f-spot will no longer open the database it has just written in the previous
session, maybe half an hour ago.
I get this error message:
"Error loading database
F-Spot encountered an error while loading the photo
database. The old database had been moved to
photos-20081021-3.db and a new database had been created.!
On the console I get this:
$ f-spot
[Info 15:59:02.278] Initializing DBus
[Info 15:59:02.432] Initializing Mono.Addins
[Info 15:59:02.681] Starting new FSpot server
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an
object
at TagStore.LoadAllTags () [0x00000]
at TagStore..ctor (Banshee.Database.QueuedSqliteDatabase database, Boolean
is_new) [0x00000]
at Db.Init (System.String path, Boolean create_if_missing) [0x00000]
at FSpot.Core.get_Database () [0x00000]
I am a bit surprised to see the Banshee reference in there. I did have Banshee
installed for a while.
I have tried to open the database with the 'sqlite3' program and it opens
without error. I can display the schema and run queries without any problems or
errors.
I have tried running the program /usr/bin/f-spot-sqlite-upgrade and it responds
"Database is already upgraded".
I have tried to remove .gnome2/f-spot, start f-spot to recreate new settings,
close it, copy my old DB in, and restart f-spot, which gives me the same error.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the entire mono-framework,
including all mono applications with no difference.
Its a bit of a bummer as I have 47k photos in there and need the classification
I have a made to locate the right photos in this pool.
I did get a fairly large update of many mono-related packages today or
yesterday, which might have something to do with it, but I have tried the same
database on another system which hadn't been updated, with the same error
message.
