I have a similar problem with Firefox 34: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1111082 with browser-plugin-vlc and gxineplugin installed. But I can't reproduce the problem with Iceweasel. I've tried both with a MP3 file (like in #640283) and with a video/quicktime file (like in Mozilla bug 1111082).
