Version: 2.7-4
Severity: important
slocate dies with the "fluky" bug message when it is given databases for
empty directories. Here's a simple way of generating the error:
% mkdir empty
% slocate -U empty -o empty.db
% env LOCATE_PATH=empty.db slocate inconceivable
slocate fluky bug found.
Ack! This shouldn't happen unless you have a path over 4096.
This could also be a bogus or corrupt database.
Report this as a bug to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
our users use locate to keep track of their own disk space, so empty
directories are something that does happen (a lot).
we're trying to migrate from GNU locate (which doesn't seem to mind
empty directories) to slocate.
Thanks,
Diab
