Gstreamer is a powerful media library. But it is not good enough even
the 0.8 version. For example, many CJK mp3 files have non-utf8 encoded
id3 information and gstreamer will get wrong results. So rhythmbox will
display them as mosaic. The Xine library is also a powerful library and
has not such problem.
Can you build a debian package of rhythmbox using Xine?
