Package: lightdm
Version: 1.16.2-1
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
I have installed gnome-shell .
$ apt-cache policy gnome-shell
gnome-shell:
Installed: 3.18.0-1
Candidate: 3.18.0-1
Version table:
*** 3.18.0-1 100

100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
3.16.3-2+b1 990
990 http://httpredir.debian.org/debian testing/main amd64 Packages
But when logging in via the lightdm-greeter it doesn't show
gnome-shell in the upper-right drop-down box (which shows
gnome-flashback (metacity) among other different
desktop-environments).

Not a GNOME Shell bug. If you want to start a gnome session based on
GNOME Shell, install the gnome-session package, which ships
/usr/share/xsessions/gnome.desktop
Closing as not-a-bug.
