some recent kernels (4.1 - 4.4-rc7) didn't work with kvm GPU passtrough.

this seems to fixed from 4.4-rc7 on, but you also have to use a more
recent version of OVMF (eg.: https://www.kraxel.org/repos/jenkins/edk2/
) to get it work again.

i do not know, what ovmf patches are needed to solve this issue, but the
most recent snapshot works.
please think about updating the release in debian unstable/testing to
use OVMF for GPU passthrough out of the box again.
