Package: pbuilder
Version: 0.115
Severity: wishlist

I noticed that all the messages pbuilder spouts:

e.g.:
 -> extracting base tarball [/var/cache/pbuilder/base.tgz]

go to stdout. Shouldn't they go to stderr instead?

Anyway, `pbuilder login 2> /dev/null` does not work because the
subshell then does not have stderr either (can this be fixed).

Thus, it would be nice if pbuilder could be quiet unless I pass
--verbose or set VERBOSE=1 in ~/.pbuilderrc.

Thanks,

since 0.221 there is a LOGLEVEL variable where you can tweak how much
output you want.
Though the output would still need tweaking (as maybe some messages
ough to go to "D" (debug) level) it's already useful.
