Package: libpng16-16
Version: 1.6.20-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I tried to install this package and I got the following result:

Preparing to unpack .../libpng16-16_1.6.20-2_amd64.deb ...
Unpacking libpng16-16:amd64 (1.6.20-2) ...
dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/libpng16-16_1.6.20-2_amd64.deb (--unpack): unable to install new version of '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpng16.so.16': No such file or directory

Examining the .deb in midnight commander shows a broken symlink, but the destination exists.

I had to install the previous version of the depending package. That one installed libpng12.

I think it might be getting confused because I did the usrmerge and /lib is a symlink.

Hi Rares,

I think I remember fixing a broken symlink a while ago (in the -3 upload), and
now the fix should be available in unstable
too.

Can you please check and confirm it is fixed? in the other case, please reopen
the bug, and let me know how to reproduce
(I know almost nothing about usrmerge)

thanks a lot,

Gianfranco
