Package: openjdk-7-jre
Version: 7u3-2.1.7-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

Running a java application (e.g., OmegaT).

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

I edited the file located under "/etc/java-7-openjdk/swing.properties" to
enable the
GTK look and feel but this had no effect.

swing.defaultlaf=com.sun.java.swing.plaf.gtk.GTKLookAndFeel

I also tested with:

swing.crossplatformlaf=com.sun.java.swing.plaf.gtk.GTKLookAndFeel
swing.systemlaf=com.sun.java.swing.plaf.gtk.GTKLookAndFeel

But none seem to work.

OTOH, running the java app by manually setting this property works as expected:

java -Dswing.crossplatformlaf=com.sun.java.swing.plaf.gtk.GTKLookAndFeel -jar
Documentos/programas/OmegatT.jar

So it looks like the "swing.properties" files is omitted or not being read.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

The java app uses the standard Metal L&F.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

The java app uses the GTK L&F.
