Package: htcheck
Version: 1:1.2.3-1
Severity: normal
Each time htcheck is upgraded, I have to go through and resync my
changes back into /etc/htcheck/htcheck.conf. That's a real pain because
the default config file is unusable (it tries to check the wrong site!)
It would be nicer if one of the following were possible:
* /etc/defaults/htcheck permitted overrides on a per-site basis, with a
fall-through to /etc/htcheck/htcheck.conf for anything not defined.
* user-specified config file (using the -c option) uses a stripped-down
config file with everything defaulting back to /etc/htcheck/htcheck.conf
if it's not set.
* write the /etc/defaults/htcheck based on debconf answers for at least
the questions about what site, what database and what mysql user to use.
Forgive me if such functionality already exists... but if it does then
perhaps retitle this bug as a fault in the documentation rather than the
binaries, as there is certainly no mention of such a feature in the
docs.
Thanks!
Stuart
