Package: nget
Version: 0.27-3
At present nget will only make one connection at a time to a single
server. This is a significant limitation that, at least in my case,
greatly reduces my total download speed. I have about 4 Mbps download
capacity, but a single connection to my news provider will usually max
out at about 1 Mbps. So by using multiple connections, I can increase
my download speed 3- or 4-fold.
Other NNTP clients, such as brag, allow multiple connections. Now you
don't want to let nget get beaten by a dinky little program like brag,
do you? :)
